CAMBRIDGE INSITU PRESSUREMETER EQUIPMENT SPECIFICATION

HYDRAULIC GROUND FRAME

The Hydraulic Ground Frame is used to insert and retrieve the Pressuremeter. Two hydraulic cylinders are mounted to a hollow-section frame. The cylinders are coupled by a clamp made to fit either Two Inch or EX casing. The frame itself is traversed by two lengths of mild steel tube large enough to take standard scaffold pole. In use the hydraulic ground frame may be either:

  1. mounted on the back of a trailer, supported from a cantilevered frame by short lengths of scaffold pole
  2. screwed to the ground, again using a pair of scaffold poles for holding down.

All hydraulic connections are made with quick-release couplings.
